Our Homeless Project offers empathy and practical support to the homeless and vulnerable in a non-judgemental and compassionate way.
The Project has developed in different ways and we now provide a three times weekly drop-in centre at the Windsor Baptist Church where our guests can get hot food & drinks, a shower, clean clothes, toiletries, laundry service, companionship and advice (12.30-2.30 Mon, Weds and Fri). Additionally, on a Saturday at St Stephen’s Church (12.30-2.00) a sit down hot meal is provided along with companionship and advice. From October 2018 our guests will also have access to the Street Angels Safety Hub on Friday and Saturday evenings at The Windsor Baptist Church where they will be able to sit in the warm and have a cup of tea and a chat, and access to medical advice if needed.
Longer term support:
Our aim is to find solutions to homelessness, by helping guests to access housing through counselling and practical help. We also aim to help those at risk of homelessness to stay in their homes. When individuals are assisted into appropriate accommodation we provide support to furnish the property, to help them settle, and to sustain the tenancy. Our aim is to help our guests develop a sense of purpose and self worth, and to empower them to live a settled, self-supporting and fulfilling life.
