The Project has four part time members of staff. As well as providing immediate personal support, they work with different agencies to find the best solutions for our guests.
Jane Deakin – Project Manager
After retiring from teaching at Windsor Girls’ School in 2010, I wasn’t really looking for any particular job until I got involved withThe Windsor Homeless Project. As soon as I started, I knew this was something that was needed & worthwhile and I soon became the Project’s first employee. After 8 years, it’s still an amazing place to work: positive and passionate people working together to create awareness, change perceptions and give vulnerable people a better future.
Murphy James – Development Manager
As well as being a professional musician, I also have a history of addiction. Having overcome many obstacles in my life, I now have an overwhelming passion for helping other vulnerable people turn their lives around and prove to themselves that they are worth the fight. The Windsor Homeless Project was inspired out of compassion and community spirit and I could not be prouder than to be part of such an incredible team of people
Sally Wright: Guest and Tenancy Support worker
I am a retired teacher who wanted a different challenge. My gifts lie in working alongside vulnerable adults, listening to their journey and sign posting them in the direction where they may find help. My motto in life is ‘Together we can make a difference’. The Windsor Homeless project is an amazing place to work and has a great community feel. Guests can come and find a place where they can be heard- perhaps for the first time.
Nick Roberts: WHP Assistant Safeguarder
My background is in the Construction Industry, where I worked for over 10 years. Unfortunately I had a problem with addiction, but sought help. Following rehab and recovery I wanted to find a purpose to my life again. I started to work as a volunteer at the Windsor Homeless Project, and eventually became an official part of the team. It is great to be doing a job I really love, and offering other people support, the type that helped me on the road to recovery
The project relies heavily on the time and energy given by a team of generous volunteers. It could not run without their support. There is a great group of volunteers – here are some of the Monday crew
The Windsor Christian Action Charity was formed in 2013 and assumed responsibility for the Homeless Project (www.windsorchristianaction.org) Registered Charity No. 1154308.
