"WHP has helped me more than they will ever know"
Where are you from?
I live in Staines

How long have you been volunteering with WHP?
About a year
What brought you to WHP?
A few years ago I was in a bad accident and my recovery took quite a while. Eventually I had to take a step back in terms of my career and began to feel a tad lost. So I started looking for something that would help build my confidence and give me a sense of purpose.
Growing up in Datchet I had always seen familiar faces on the streets of Windsor and I decided that I wanted to try and give something back, so I looked at local volunteering and WHP popped up. I emailed and was welcomed within a week :)
What do you find most rewarding about volunteering for WHP?
Most definitely the guests! I have really grown to know some of them and we can have a real laugh at times. With some of our regulars I have grown to know their likes, what they find funny and how to approach them for a chat. I have also been fortunate enough to work with some other great people here and have made a few good friends along the way.
It is really humbling to see how many people help out the project, any donation is always really appreciated by all guests and volunteers. Overall, it has really helped me learn a lot about homelessness and how we can help.

For me it is truly as selfish as it is selfless. WHP has helped me more than they will ever know, I hope they get as much from me as I do them.
